Horrible filters

we changed our water filter last night and got up to water all over the kitchen! hardwood floors and refrigerator oaked with water dripping everywhere and large amounts of water to clean up. took 2 plus hours and now water turned off so no use of ice/water on refrig. so irritated with samsung and the products they are throwing out to consumers! faulty filters and seriously it should be easier process! not happy! never again will we buy samsung appliances! would give you 0 stars!

Hard time replacing filter

ive changed the filter and water leaked everywhere. i had to keep removing it and installing it for it to work. i finally got it to fit but now my fridge hasn't updated that the filter is replaced. it is still asking me to replace so now im unsure if its installed propery.

purchased genuine filters 2 pack and they dont fit, i am hoping that samsung fixed the issue and i can find filters that fit, so frustrating. it seems that this is a major issue, so samsung have you fixed it yet, do you have fters that fut out $3000 refigerators?

very easy to install. i had to use pliers to remove the existing water filter but it was not that bad. i was really worried from the other reviews about the water filter not fitting but i did not have any issues installing the new one. i believe the year model of my refrigerator is 2020.

has samsung resolved this issue yet? the genuine samsung filter that is designed for my $3,000 refrigerator does not fit. this is highly disappointing. moving forward, i will no longer be purchasing samsung for any of my major appliances. why is it so difficult to sell the exact filter that comes with the refrigerator? this has been a known issue for quite some time and samsung refuses to address it. unacceptable, especially for such a widely known and trusted brand. samsung needs to make this right.

i signed up for the subscribe-and-save program to get a filter every 6 months. the first two or three were just fine, but the latest one puts out bad tasting water (yes, even after the suggested 3 gallon flush). i've now spent hours trying to talk to someone about it and just keep getting transferred, or given numbers to call (sometimes new worthless numbers, but often the same worthless numbers i called previously). good luck to you if you have an issue with your filter!

i'm never buying a samsung fridge again. this filter is trash. after replacing it my fridge has smelled like a chemical for months, the water is filled with specs. samsung tech came out and they said everything works so nothing they can do. the water filter made all my food taste like a chemical. im so upset i cant drink water from my over $3,000 fridge. i purchased a $55 water filter and this thing is complete trash but cant use any other filters or else samsung wont honor the warranty. i just got this fridge 8 months ago, and i must now order another $55 water filter hoping it resolves my issue. what a waste of money, would not recommend.

i love my refrigerator. great design and function. the old design of water filter worked very well. i purchased a new one and installed it. it had a different fit and was hard to get in. the carafe would fill an inch at a time and the dispenser would stop and not work. i went to the trouble shooting samsung site and figured out it was the filter. i removed the filter and everything is working. i check the filter area for leakage but have not found anything. is the old filter coming back? i give 5 stars to my fridge and 0 stars for the new filter.

bought samsung refrigerator brand new, with this filter. worked for the first week, and then totally stopped the flow of water. if you remove the filter the water flows perfectly again. samsung does not replace filters, the repair person said it was not possible it was a defect with the refrigerator connecting to the filter. have to try another one, and if the same thing happens, i'm just out of luck. samsung support is useless, they only send you generic responses or direct you to a frequently asked questions page.

HAF-QIN/EXP Replacement Walter Filters

i have installed two genuine samsung replacement water filters in the last two weeks and have experienced water leakage both times. fortunately, i discovered the first water leak of several gallons before it could do damage. once the filter is inserted and locked into place, i hear a continuous hissing sound and then water sprays down inside of the refrigerator through the middle drawer and into the freezer and down to the pan on the bottom of the unit. when i reinstall the old filter, the hissing and water leakage does not occur. up until now, i have never experienced this problem and i have owned and maintained this refrigerator, model number rf23m8070sr/aa for over two years. i am extremely disappointed in a possible water damage problem with no apparent solution.

almost a year later and samsung has not fixed the issues for these filters. if your fridge is a 2020 model, it won't fit. rf22r7551sr/aa that is the model number of the fridge. model number 9f the filter that came with the fridge haf-qin/exp. the replacement filters do not fit. i tried 2 different ones. i have attached the pictures of the original filter and the replacement filter. please samsung fix this issue.

i put the filter in and that fit fine. i went to reset the filter light - hold reset button 3 sec. nothing, it will not reset. text support said: ?unplug it (or turn off power at the circuit breaker), wait some time for the electrical charge to clear out of it (usually 1 to 5 minutes at most), and then power it up again." that does not seem right. i have to pull the refrigerator out and unplug.? really after chatting the rep said to hit the lock button for 3 seconds. ok i tried hitting the lock button and then hitting reset. guess what that worked. remember to hit lock again. the owner manual should have stated this and not waste my time researching the issue and going through the chat. at least that worked.

Faulty filter damaged fridge

i replaced my fridge filter with an authentic samsung filter yesterday. it did not seal. fortunately, i was home as a hours later,i found water everywhere in the kitchen (hardwood floors). the brand new defective filter caused the leadk into the doors of the fridge which are still dripping today. i soent four hours cleaning up. i put the old filter in and it was fine. luckily i had a second replacement which works fine. samsung is not willing to have anyone come out to open the door panels as i know there will be mold issues. there are no samsung repair companies in my area. they will not even send out a replacement filter for the defective filter. they terminated my online chat. i will replace my fridge in the next year or so.

i purchased the exact genuine samsung water filter, haf-qin/exp, for my 3-month old refrigerator. new filter does not fit. with calipers, i measured the dimensions of the plastic catch (showing mechanical conflict) and catch is thicker on the new filter (batch code a8441) than the original filter (batch code b0431). very disappointing quality issue for an expensive new refrigerator. from other comments, i see this is a known issue to samsung. the link i see on some comments, which is supposed to help you install new filter does not work either. why hasn't this issue been resolved by recalling defective filters?

the filter that came with our fridge later about a year before the flow through the dispenser started to slow. the replacement filter lasted less than 3 months before becoming so clogged that the ice maker stopped working. if it's only going to last 3 months,i might as well try a generic.

thry wers servicing the water line nesr our house and all our faucets were flowing brown, even after 10 minutes of flushing them out. while this filter definitely definitely saw a reduction in flow rate, the quality of the water was excellent as always.

White residue coming out of filter... bad support

we have had our fridge for about 8 months. bought this replacement filter in dec. now in january we notice that the water coming out of the filter is leaving a white residue behind. our tap water is not doing this. only from this filter. spent 40 minutes trying to get support and just kept getting passed around to extensions. guess i have to pay for a new genuine filter and hope i get a good one. can't get support on this one from the company. its past 15 days for a return so stuck. i'll be sure to test the new one and return at any sign of residue. buyer beware.

i just ordered water filter for my samsung rf27t5241sg-aa and it ordered a part different than what was given me by samsung phone rep. da97-17376b so i cancelled the order. then i read some reviews and was disappointed when i copied and pasted the link given above the reviewees. it is an incomplete link. i just don't know what to do now. i need filter replacement and am confused. plus the fact that other purchasers have had difficulties in installing the units causing them to leak because they don'e sit well in the filter box. what's a person do do. i hope someone calls me because i would really appreciate some guidance on this.

i seem to disagree with the other reviewers. i followed the instructions, but the filer was very difficult to remove, so the first time i called samsung's help line to see if it was ok to remove with a pliers. they said "yes". i removed and reinstalled with no problem. we drink a lot of water, so i knew the filer wasn't going to last 6 months; it lasted about 3-3 1/2. our house has a whole house filter on it anyway, but this filter seems to make the water taste cleaner. even the cats prefer water from the refrigerator than the tap! i usually order two filters at a time, in case they are on back order. this will be my third filter. i have no complaints!

i've already replaced the water filter. but for some reason the refrigerator is not recognizing the new filter. and i'm unable to turn off the filter code inside the refrigerator. i love sampson products. however with the difficulty of turning off the filter sensor after replacing filter i would not recommend

great tvs worst appliances ever don't expect them to last me more than 5 years if i get that out of them i'll probably be lucky problems from day one i have four filters on my house system i don't need an extra one in my refrigerator there's no way it can be bad because the water going into it is perfectly clean so it's triggered by a timer and you have to replace it whether you need it or not at $40 and that's with signing up for a subscription to save money it's a rip off i get two whole house carbon filters for 50 bucks that last a year that's enough to make your ice tastes fine i also have three other filters which take out 99% of everything nothing but problems with this thing ice makers junk stay away be very very afraid buy their tvs nothing else

we bought this filter from samsung after doing some research. there are a lot of 3rd parties provide same model filter, but some of them has fitting and leaking issue, so we decide to buy the original samsung one to avoid problem. but we are wrong!!! this water filer doesn't fit our samsung fridge perfectly even it's same mode.it won't go all the way in after install the new filter. we don't have the leak problem so far, but it just does't give us the original feel. it's a bit disappointment.
