Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. Looks good but very noisy

Submitted by disappointed in MD - 9/19/2017

Range was installed 2 months ago and looks good. The oven works fine however the induction range makes quite audible clicking and buzzing noises non-stop at all temperatures but high, when you get the expected humming. The various induction cook tops we researched at the showrooms did not exhibit this trait. I have asked other induction owners and they do not experience this phenomenon. Factory service has replaced the control board once but it has not relieved the issue. Customer chat support relayed that this is expected behavior . Shame on me for not researching this product better and relying on the positive comments of reviewers . If you enjoy constant clicking and buzzing of your burners while cooking, this range is the one for you. Please view the video attached. The noise is actually louder in person as my cell phone was some distance away from the range.

New kitchen

Submitted by Dog park - 9/10/2017

If you don't lace anything warm to hot on the top burner surface it will incessantly beep to indicate some hot is still on the cooktop. Annoying. If you cook something on call ok too then take the of burner then try to heat again, the cooktop will lock you out. Also the oven seems to run hot and frozen pizzas for example overlook when following box instructions. When taking items from oven and placement ng on cooktop to cool, I have scratch the stainless steel oven panel on the horizontal side. Scratches easily and looks worn after a few uses

My Favorite

Submitted by Peggy - 9/7/2017

I've been thoroughly enjoying this stove. At first I was nervous about induction cooking, but it is so easy to use (and clean) that I wish I hadn't waited so long to try it. A true pleasure to cook on.

Great Performance

Submitted by Kris - 9/1/2017

There is a bit of a learning curve with the induction cooktop, but I already love it and am sure I will like it more and more as I use it more and more. I've used convection oven before and am amazed at how quiet this one is--no fan noise! And, I baked 3 loaves of bread that came out perfectly browned and done in the middle. Not the case with my last convection oven. I also love the way it look, but most importantly the way it performs.

An Amazing Range!!!

Submitted by M & M - 8/18/2017

I bought my stove one month ago and I am amazed! Before finding this stove, I had thought I was going to have to install a gas line in order to get a really good stove. Also, I primarily use cast iron cook ware. So when I saw this stove, learned I could use all of my cast iron, and did not have to install a gas line I was thrilled. The first evening I had it I cooked filet mignon steaks for my family, and we were all amazed. It seared the meat perfectly, and was as good as any restaurant. The oven is also wonderful. (I have not used the baking drawer yet.) I am a good cook and baker, and look forward to pushing my skills with so many new options. I am very blessed to have such a high quality appliance!

Excellent operation but detective seal around cooktop

Submitted by Sally - 8/15/2017

Excellent performance, but the seal around the cook top is separated in the front and collects debris. We purchased a flat cook top for easy cleaning. The defect is highly disappointing, particularly for a higher end range. We'll be reaching out for service but are concerned over whether a repair person will be able to accomplish a repair that doesn't ruin the look of the range.

Pros - The induction cooktop is wonderful - The primary oven is very good - Having a secondary oven is very helpful - The styling is very attractive - The free 12-piece cookware is great Cons - The cooktop controls were designed without any regard to usability. It takes multiple, error-prone steps to use them. This is a big con. - Three of the four burners are small and it is not possible to use two large pots simultaneously. - AquaLift self cleaning is completely without merit. - The baking drawer is quite small and only takes very short pans.

Self cleaning does not work

Submitted by Induction Izzie - 8/5/2017

This is my second induction appliance. The induction cooktop is quick to heat up, but much less responsive to lower temps than my Wolf cooktop. The bridging is quite good, with even heat across the two element areas. The problem with this oven is the fact that there is no conventional self cleaning option. I had understood there to be self cleaning as well as the steam clean AquaLift option. Upon realizing that, I cleaned the oven very soon after beginning to use it, so that there would be only very light residue. To my dismay and irritation, AquaLift is pretty useless. For me, that is a deal breaker. Looking up AquaLift, I soon discovered that there is a class action against Whirlpool for the fact that AquaLift does not perform as advertised. Buyer beware.

Love this range!

Submitted by Garden Gal - 8/2/2017

I waited 10 years for a new range, and this is the one I chose. I love the quick reacting induction top and the even heating of the convection oven. The set of pans is a real bonus. If there is anything I could change it is that it would not beep when the burner is on and I take the pan off momentarily, but that is minor compared to the wonderful benefits of this awesome range.

Wonderful stove

Submitted by MAP - 7/27/2017

I bought this stove for a kitchen remodel. It is summer in Texas, so I have only used the oven once so far. The induction cooktop is so fast, I am always amazed at how quickly a pot of water can boil. I hope I like to oven as much as the cooktop. There was a little smudge of silicon on the cooktop, I am gradually trying to wipe it off. Also there was some broken glass in my oven, although my glass door doesn't appear to be broken or chipped. It would be wonderful if Kitchenaid had a book on how to use this appliance.

Great cooktop and range!

Submitted by Working mom and DIYer - 7/24/2017

Bought a couple of months ago to replace an electric glass cooktop range. What an amazing appliance! The induction cooktop provides incredible control and only took me a short while to get used to operating. You have such incredible control of the temperature. I would say its even better than cooking on gas(we have gas in our camper and I do like it but this has even better control). The convection oven automatically converts recipes for you by just selecting yes when starting. It adjusts the temperature and time for perfect results. I've cooked several things from my older cookbooks and everything came out great. I'm so glad an induction cooktop of this quality was available at this price when we recently renovated our kitchen. I really hated my previous 2 electric ranges.

Submitted by Refishman - 7/13/2017

Wow! What a range! I can boil water in less than 90 seconds on this induction cooktop! Now i dont have to worry about my kids touching the surface after cooking and getting burned. The lower baking drawer is perfect for kids chicken fingers etc and you dont have to preheat the large oven just for that! The easy convect function assures no over cooking. Great range!

Love it!

Submitted by Cindy - 7/11/2017

I purchased my induction stove about 3 weeks ago and am totally enjoying cooking these days. The stove performs as it said it would; exceptionally fast boiling point, efficient cooking on the surface, easy clean up and beautiful to look at. It does not have any loud or irritating noises as some complained in other reviews, as long as you read the instructions it performs wonderfully! The oven has performed perfectly as well, not as fast to heat up as the burners but consistent temperature and love the easy roll rack. I have not tried the self cleaning so can't comment on it; can say induction cooking is the way to go, I would recommend it to anyone!!! I gave this a 4 star rating as I do wish the top had an over lapping edge for a tighter fit against the counter surface.

Dealing with Fit System Guarantee horrible

Submitted by going crazy - 7/6/2017

I bought this on 6/30, filed claim and they cannot understand what needs to be done regarding the horrible fit and I have wasted hours making calls to them and emailing them. Parts were missing as well and I haven't received them when I called on 6/30 and they told me that they would fed express things to me. And didn't do it obviously. I have never had this much poor service!!! What is the point of offered a Fit system on a slide in range and not honoring it. All I asked for was trim and $100 for countertop alterations.

Disappointed, Previous Model was Better

Submitted by NAC - 6/23/2017

After owning the previous version of this induction range in my last house I had high hopes for this new and improved model, but after living with it for about 6 months I'm mostly disappointed. I think the range itself is attractive as a range can be and it's nice that they eliminated the backsplash control panel, which worked really well for me since I put this range in a kitchen island. Where it falls most short though is in the control interface, which makes simple tasks more complicated than they need to be. Let's say you want to turn on a burner, you need to 1) push power, 2) push the burner selection you want, 3) slide your finger along the power selector until the desired power is reached. Might not sound like much but compared to a traditional unit where you reach over and rotate the dial and you have your burner set and you'll see that the interface on this range requires a lot more time and concentration. If you're going to control multiple burners you have to first select the burner, slide your finger then select the other burner and slide your finger. Impossible? No. But, when you're trying to multitask in the kitchen it's just annoying. Add to this that I often I find that the controls aren't responsive if you're hands are wet, hot, or cold or if there's moisture or food on the controls (which is easy since they're in the middle of the cooktop). The extra time it takes to sort this out can mean the difference of something getting overcooked or a pot boiling over. Whoever designed this does not cook a lot. Other issues: too many annoying beeping reminders with no way to turn them off (there is a turn off reminders setting, but it doesn't seem to do much). Stainless around control panel scratches easy. Fit and finish is not up to par and KA doesn't warranty "cosmetics". Software is buggy - have had 3 service calls in 5 months, control board replaced twice.

Professional style stove that cooks like gas but it's not

Submitted by LLargent - 6/15/2017

I purchased the stove about a long ago and am very pleased with my purchase. We cook a lot, 5 days a week, and love all the space this cooktop provides. Pans heat up quickly and water boils in under 5 minutes. The touch pad controls are easy to understand and walk you though the more complicated features. Best stove we've owned.

We have been fans of KitchenAid for a very long time but this induction range and the poor response from KitchenAid/Whirlpool regarding service has ruined our good feelings. We had this $3,000 range for less than a month and the oven stopped working correctly leaving us unable to use it for the entire Thanksgiving holiday. The control panel went bad and we were without it again during the entire Memorial Day holiday. The customer service team doesn't follow up. We've spend endless hours trying to get help. I'm sorry to say the company isn't the fine company it once was.

Submitted by Christina - 6/1/2017

I absolutely love the look. I wanted a slide in and still wanted a double oven. It's not a true double oven, bit the baking drawer on the bottom still gets the job done. In fact, this range does so many things, I feel like I am in cooking school. They were hard to find, but I found silicone mats to use on the range under my pots and pans so I didn't have to worry about movement and scratches. It really does clean up so well compared to an electronic cook top.

Love the induction technology!

Submitted by Jason - 5/18/2017

I've had the induction cooktop for a week now, and it is absolutely wonderful. I previously had a ceramic glass electric cooktop. Heat transfer and cook times were long. Heating in the pot / pan was uneven. Not so with induction! In my cast iron skillet, I can boil a cup of water in under a minute. It's an even boil too, not just in spots. When switching to induction, a few things to keep in mind: - you might need to get new pots / pans. The pot / pan has to have some iron in it for induction to work. This means stainless steel or cast iron cookware. Aluminum cookware won't work. We knew this, and we got all new cookware, mostly cast iron. While they're heavier than light aluminum, they cook wonderfully and our food tastes better. - you'll learn to "cook by numbers". That is, you are probalby used to turning a dial on your stove then watching the burner and contents in your pan. With induction, you can do that, but the heat trasnfer and change is almost instantaneous so I've been cooking a lot of eggs, sauteeing, and simmering (tasks that require even steady heat) so I can get a feel for what number setting is equal to about what power level. - the induction burners use a power setting range of 0-9 (off to high) plus a P setting above 9 for getting the pot hot real fast. You'll find you cook on slightly lower numbers than you're used to because there is essentially no heat lost in the heating process. Our kitchen is cooler during and after cooking. - you can't remove the pot from the burner for more than 5-10 seconds or it will shutoff. This is on purpose as a safety feature. So, if you like to cook over gas and fling the contents in the air, you'll be frustrated with induction. Any pot or pan you use needs to have a flat bottom that fits the stove burners. Overall, we're very happy with our stove and we're glad we made the switch to induction!

We absolutely love the induction technology, and this silde in range looks really nice in our new kitchen. We moved into a townhome that doesn't have gas service and were really sad to be going back to electric...until we got this induction range, and it is actually much better! More precise, cool to the touch, and safe since there isn't a worry of gas leaks and carbon monoxide. Love the baking drawer, too. Highly recommended!

Submitted by Deb - 5/15/2017

I have all ways cooked with gas heat and was a little leary about going to Induction, but the condo that we have only has electric available to us so we decided to try it. Induction cooking is great, it cooks very similar to gas heat only better. Boiling water takes seconds to a little more than a minute. It cooks very evenly the only down side is that you do need to buy pans that are magnetic with a flat bottom but is well worth the price of the appliance.

I just got the install finished today because I had to have new wiring put in. It has a 4 pronged plug and my outlet had only 3 with only 3 wires. The electrician was a little pricey but I know it will now be safe. I have not had a chance to cook with it but am looking forward to it. I have been reading the instruction book and playing around with things a little. I think It will be a very different experience. I have friends who have induction cooktops and they tell me it is wonderful after you learn to use it. I just wish someone had mentioned the wiring possibilities. I don't think it would have made a difference in my purchase but would have liked to anticipate the extra experience! That is the only reason I gave it a 4.

Great features, but...

Submitted by Argee - 3/26/2017

The magnetic induction stovetop is great. The ovens seem to be on the cool side. Breads and cookies are taking longer to proof and/or cook than indicated by about 30%-40% which would imply the temperature sensor is off but we have not yet had the technician out to verify. That is not a complaint, but really more of a new-stove-thing to work out. Our complaints are very common to almost everyone who has purchased this particular model stove. Our stove was advertised with a remote wireless temperature probe which is yet to arrive. Also, we have not been able to put in our order for the pots and pans and have been unable to get hold of customer support here on the West Coast. The hours are geared for people on the East Coast. By the time I get off work, it is too late to call and they don't answer their phones on the weekend. I'm beginning to wonder what good our 5-Year extended warranty is if Kitchen Aide doesn't answer the phone.

Submitted by rick - 3/23/2017

Induction cooktop does not disappoint! All most twice as fast to boil as old coil stove, and quick temp reduction to stop boil overs. Looking forward to the Kitchenaid cook set so I have more than two pans. I was expecting a quicker oven preheat thinking this level of oven would use more then one element to preheat, I was wrong in that assumption, it only uses one. Possibly because it only requires a 40amp service. If you like the looks of this range, go for it. To address the questions I have seen most: It does make a clicking sound on lower settings that can be heard in a quiet kitchen, once what you are cooking begins to sizzle or the vent hood is on, it can not be heard. So it does cycle the energy on and off to control the temp. I find the cooling fan that vents at rear of cooktop is a non concern, it is only loud enough to hear that something is on.
