Bertazzoni was founded in Italy in 1882 and is a 6th generation, family owned business. Francesco Bertazzoni noticed the wood burning stoves on train and saw how the idea could be adapted to cooking. He and his son eventually created the first Bertazzoni wood burning cooking stoves, produced in very small quantities. Today, Bertazzoni has built it's reputation on considered design, outstanding engineering and a deep passion for food, and their approach continues in the spirit of innovation that has run through six generations.
