Do I need a dishwasher with stainless steel interior? The inside of a dishwasher can either be stainless steel or plastic. A stainless steel interior helps insulate the noise level, contain the heat to help dry dishes faster and won’t discolor like the plastic interior models. Getting a unit with a stainless steel interior will increase the cost, but there is no difference in the level of cleanliness compared to a plastic interior.

How quiet is the dishwasher I selected? Today’s dishwashers are much quieter than the old ones. The noise level is based on how well insulated the dishwasher is with sound absorbing materials. Dishwashers with a starting price of $250 will have minimal sound dampening materials, so the noise level will be 65 decibels and up. Top-of-the-line dishwashers with heavy insulation can have a decibel rating as low as 42. At Mrs. G TV & Appliances we use 50 decibels as a gauge for quiet dishwashers.
